I Would Describe Myself As

I suppose, if my name was a vaguely elemental object it would be Rock. A thing not particularly beautiful but interestingly weathered enough that you might notice it in a pile. A thing that you might pick up and hold in your hand and feel its weight and roll between your fingers and notice its rough and smooth parts. A thing that you might look more closely at and notice that parts of it are translucent and parts opaque. And maybe you would put this thing in your pocket and carry it around with you for the rest of the day. And when you get home you might place it on the table next to your sofa. And every time you sit down to talk to your best friend or watch your favorite show you would hold it in your hand. And maybe eventually this thing would become a comfort to you. And maybe eventually you would say to yourself "I like this thing. It's not a diamond but it's unique and it's mine. I'd like to keep it forever."
