Me describiría a mi mismo como
So....you really should just click that little "next" button up there. I'm the guy you don't want to get involved with. You know that guy that goes out of his way to make you feel special, safe, and appreciated. You wouldn't be able to stand the fact that I would make you experience culture and art...movies and musicals….museums and parks. You'd totally be put off by the fact that I'm not into watching sports on television. I'm that guy that loves to turn up the radio in the car and sing like crazy with his kids. My crazy voices, accents, and impersonations would drive you nuts...along with my general dorky/goofy/weirdness. I would want you to be on time...get dressed up from time to time...wear less make-up, and you'd most certainly hate the fact that I would insist on opening your door. You'd probably be annoyed by the fact that I sometimes play the guitar, the piano, or the drums depending on my mood. Not to mention you'll hate laughing all the time, and you won't be able to keep my playfulness contained.
Having said that, I am sure that the fact that I am a single father who's raised his two kids by himself for the past 13 years (they're 15 and 16 now) will make you see me as overly family oriented and too responsible. You probably won't like the fact that I would want you to spend time with your friends...or pursuing whatever makes you happy – because time apart is healthy. You'll wonder why I am so supportive and encouraging, or why I never forget special occasions and anniversaries. You may even be leery when you realize that I don't look at other women…or have a top 5 list. The lack of drama will probably drive you slowly insane. Then you'll have to deal with you're colleagues giving you grief over the flowers I send you at work, or the times that I bring you lunch just because I want to see you.
I'll expect you to think I am hilarious...be affectionate...cuddle with me and then not get mad when I get too hot. I'll totally be attracted to your dorky side…and if you don't have one I will insist you get one. I'll want you to go on silly adventures with me and not get embarrassed when I am goofing off in public. You'd have to let me lay in your lap while you run your fingers through my hair, not to mention I would expect you not to be annoyed when I block you from wherever it is you're heading until you kiss me. Plus I would always be trying to make even seemingly meaningless little moments more meaningful and romantic. That's just exhausting after a while. You'll probably be irritated by the fact that I totally get along with your friends and family, or that my kids are super mature, kind, and respectful.
So, you had better think it through before you show interest in me. I will expect a lot out of you, I will challenge you, inspire you, encourage you, listen to you, ultimately crawl naked over broken glass for you, and the worst part is I would insist that you do the same for me – and no one wants that kind of responsibility, or has time for that kind of commitment. I am looking for a woman that's my "best friend on fire". A woman who will walk with me through this crazy world holding my hand and never letting go...sharing whatever time we have left on this little planet - happy and together.
