I Would Describe Myself As
It's always difficult to talk about myself, but it must be done; so here goes.
I have retired once, back now consulting. I may retire again soon. I want to travel and enjoy myself. One problem is I love the work that I do and can't seem to stop. The bigger problem is I have no one to travel with and enjoy life together. I think if there was someone special in my life right now I would most likely be in New Zealand, Scotland, Germany, or maybe just Kansas on a road trip.
I do like to get out and explore. I am always up for a good road trip or plane flight. Where doesn't really matter. I'd prefer going to the mountains over the beach. I also enjoy long distance travel and have so many places on my must visit list I’m going to have to either start soon or live to 125. I’d prefer to start soon and then live to 125, but I’ll probably have to settle with just starting soon.
I have a wonderful daughter who just graduated college at U. C. Davis and is starting her career in Portland. I cherish every minute we spend together. I am very proud of her and she is absolutely wonderful. Last summer we spent a week together in a mountain cabin, hiking and exploring. Life doesn’t get much better than that.
I played many sports over the years from ice hockey to football, but five knee surgeries have slowed me down a bit. I am definitely not one that will sit around too often, but with the right person a movie day can be fun. I don’t drink, but I do not object at all if my partner does. I don’t deal well with a partner that is falling down drunk every night. I’ve been down that road and frankly don’t want to do that again. I love to cook, but don’t at all anymore. It is not fun to cook and eat alone.
Here is the clincher: I am an engineer by trade. I can hear the mouse clicks now next. Why do engineers have such a bad name? Some of us are kinda funny. I crack myself up all the time. But I do tend to over think things at times. It's a gift, and a curse. And all my friends will tell you I can’t pick colors.
I have pretty simple tastes, and do not have a long list of “must haves” for my partner. Good conversations are a must. Being active and enjoying travel are also big items for me.
If you want to know more just ask.
