Basic Information
I Would Describe Myself As
My favorite days are when I get to spend some time outdoors, get a little exercise and look at something beautiful. Good company and good conversation are what make me tick. The details of my day are less important than making an effort to make the best of every day, and enjoy every moment of my life. Is every day perfect? Hell no, but every day always unfolds perfectly.
I have an old school sensibility thanks to my depression era grandparents and my boomer parents who are still married. However, we live in a changing world, and I live in one of the most diverse areas in California - or the world for that matter - so my motto is evolve or be left behind. I consider myself a progressive thinker in pretty much every way: spiritually, politically, socially, etc.
I love to exercise, but I am not a gym rat. I try to do something every day to keep my body fit and relaxed. It's not about vanity, but it's definitely about sanity. Cycling is my favorite. I also run and do martial arts weekly and yoga when the mood strikes. It would be great to have a workout partner, but my routine stands on its own. If I am into stuff you don't like, I don't expect you to join me.
My sense of humor runs in the company of George Carlin, Lois C.K., and anything that is smart, wry, dark, irreverent, or even a little bit cynical. Smart is definitely funny. I'd rather watch a comedy than an action film, and I'll pick a or documentary over a slasher flick every time. If you can relate to "Idiocracy," "Raising Arizona" or "No Country for Old Men," then we might have similar tastes.
I work a "day job" for the state, and I moonlight as a property manager in the building where I live. I have a long term goal to own my own apartment buildings, and look forward to the day I am no longer a "public servant." I recently applied for a real estate license and plan to use it in building a real estate portfolio. For now, the day job affords me the flexibility to be the kind of dad who is there for his kids. I am not necessarily doing what I love, yet, but I choose to love what I do, because hey, I still have to show up to work every day, so I make the best of it.
I am a single father, so alternate weekends and a couple days a week are dedicated to my two kids who are 4 and 7. I love being a dad, and it comes first. Quality time with my kids is very important. If you have kids too, I know you understand. The good part about being a co-parent is that a couple days a week I have time to myself to do as I please. Anyone who has ever parented full or part time knows that you gotta have a break now and then!
If you'd like to spend some time getting to know each other and enjoy some activities together without a lot of pressure...
Some things I might suggest: cycling, a walk, hike, coffee, yoga, a run, poetry reading or open mic, a day at the beach, cooking a meal (yes, I can cook!), dining out - sushi is a favorite, but anything goes.
I am pretty adventurous, and will try most things once, so throw me a curve:)

What Do You Look For?
I am interested in a woman who is first and foremost comfortable with herself. Girly-girls are sexy, and so are tomboys, but the ultimate is the woman who can transition between the best of both worlds. I am a firm believer that a woman is at her best when she keeps it simple. Just being a woman makes her sexy, no special tricks required.
