I am gratefully retired from a long career as an architect and planner for colleges and universities. I am thrilled to have the freedom now to explore who I will become - and with whom I might share - this next stage of life.
I am divorced from a marriage of almost 40 years. I understand the kind of commitment and care a long-term relationship needs to thrive.
I have been an artist all my life. My focus for the past 15 years has been painting pastel landscapes outdoors or in my studio. I founded and direct a plein air painting society. Painting is my part-time second career and my main passion.
I cherish close emotional connection and the sharing of our inner worlds in any relationship. I am warm, affectionate in both giving and receiving, and enjoy sensuality. Warm, loving relationships with my adult son, friends, family, and two dogs are my great joy in life.
A long-time Buddhist meditation practitioner, I respect and value all other spiritual traditions and approaches.
My spirit and body need regular time to rejuvenate in the mountains, rivers, oceans, and lakes. Flat-water kayaking, walking in the woods, and cross-country skiing are some of my happiest places. I do my best to stay fit and strong. I am by no means an athlete, but I relish being as active as possible and would love to have a companion for enjoying outdoor activities.
My good friends say I am passionate, warm, intense, smart, a great listener, energetic, generous, creative, well-organized, and intellectually curious, with a good sense of humor. I am also a lifelong liberal Democrat.
I'd like to meet a retired or semi-retired well-educated professional man who also has passions and interests of his own with whom to share this time of life. I especially value authenticity, integrity of character, sensuality, emotional awareness, intelligence, and of course sense of humor. I am a romantic and still believe it is possible to find that one last, great love, the one that brings us alive in new and unexpected ways.
