I am energetic, reasonably intelligent, willing to try new things, but most of all, caring and kind. I love the outdoors, sunshine and saltwater. I am not looking for a hookup. I can get that anywhere. I am looking for someone who is looking for the perfect partner for long term. When I do anything to treat myself or pamper myself, I feel a bit guilty, yet I pamper and spoil who I care about. So, I am looking for the woman who wants to spoil me, as much as I will spoil her. I love trying new things and going new places. I am a BBQ cook. My specialty is BBQ salmon as I was a commercial salmon fisherman in Alaska for 30 years. Prior to that I was a Fisheries Biologist for 20 years working for Alaska Fish and Game. I am thoughtful, honest, calm, and financially responsible. The right woman for me does not have to be rich but does have to know how to manage what she has. At my age, I do not want to be a purse or a nurse. I still work at my projects, and I am very conscientious about my work. I don't slack. I don't look for problems, troubles, or challenges, but I don't shy away from them, either. I care about how I look. My appearance does not have to be perfect, especially since I am usually recreating or working outdoors! But, when I go out with friends, or out with the right woman, I want to look my best. I care what people think about me. I keep my private life private. I have a very mild disposition, but I will always stand up for myself. I give respect and expect respect in return. I am loving and passionate. In a relationship, I make great effort "to keep the fire burning." I am faithful in a relationship. I am trusting, but not naive. I don't like playing games. I take responsibility for my actions and my work. I am not perfect, I own up to my mistakes and always try to make amends, when necessary. I won't apologize just to let it go, but I will if an apology is due. And bygones are bygones. I can carry on a good conversation with most anyone. However, there will be times I may forget something, lose something (my cell phone, my car keys!) or have a few lazy days. I am not good at giving myself a lot of slack, and I am my own worst critic. I am financially secure. I am in good health. And though I am a senior citizen. No brag, just a fact, I am in better mental and physical health than most folks my age. When I was younger, I was stronger and had more endurance. I played football and track in high school and college and set a HS record in track. Also made the first team, All Conference Football Team. But now I am becoming aware of my limitations! It's hard to accept, but unavoidable. I feel I am more active than most men my age and I attribute it to good genes and being active! I look forward to meeting people, dating, and overall flirting, but am quick to shut down scam artists, and jerks in general! And besides jumping from subject to subject with no form of transition. I am very witty. Although I try to keep myself in check when in public. I seldom cuss or swear because I think it shows a lack of intelligence. There is a better way to communicate and express one's thoughts! I don't drink a lot, but I do enjoy a really good beer or drink on occasion. I do not smoke and absolutely will not date any woman that smokes. I love music especially country western, the Eagles, Oakridge Boys, Roy Orbison, Don Williams, Statler Brothers, Mike Young, Rightous Brothers, Ricky King (guitar), Martina McBride, etc. I not a fan of heavy metal, hard rock or rap music. I like to dance, western swing, slow dance, the 60’s etc. If you like to dance that is a plus but not a deal breaker.
